Shuffled File Set Renamer

About:

This program renames all files in its current folder (except itself) into shuffled sets of a user-specified size.  

In english, this means it shuffles the order of every file in the folder at random and then if you say 4 to Set Size, it will give you 4 files with the same randomized filename + number before making another random name for the next 4 set of files. Like so:

• hjkhjk_01.mp4
• hjkhjk_02.mp4
• hjkhjk_03.mp4
• hjkhjk_04.mp4

• werwer_04.mp4

(Original order of files has been complete jumbled and shuffled too)    

Usage:

1. Place the executable in the folder containing the files you want to rename.

2. Double-click the executable to run it.

3. Enter the desired set size when prompted.

4. If multiple file types are detected, you'll be asked to confirm before proceeding. (safety feature)

5. The program will rename all files in the folder, grouping them into sets of the specified size.  

Note: This program will rename ALL files in its folder (except itself). Make sure you're in the correct folder before running it.  

Warning: This process is irreversible. It's recommended to backup your files before using this program unless you know what you're doing.    

Purpose of this program:

Personally I made this program for this task; I had recorded about 1400 video clips using ShareX, each 10 seconds long, and I wanted to make small individual movies out of them, each having 10 randomly selected clips from this 1400 bunch, making a total of 140 movies that I could then upload to youtube. It would be excellent for marketing my game projects especially if the clips are diverse from different scenes considering the entire total set of 1400 clips I had.  

The issue I had is that the clips were sorted in the alphabetical order they were made in, which would make the movies boring if I simply picked 10 first clips straight away that were all from the same scene instead of from many different random scenes of gameplay. I wanted the movies to have that "random cool moments out of context" feel to them, hence the need for randomization. I needed a way to shuffle the filenames of all those 1400 clips so that they'd be mixed, but also offered in sets of 10 so it'd be clear which ones I'd need to pick and how many per movie. I certainly was NOT going to do it manually with 1400 clips and keep track of it all.  

This program handles the shuffling, renaming and clumping together 10 clips with the same filename + incremental number. Problem solved.
