What is Robodude Buddy Ally Companion Mod?

Robodude Buddy Ally Companion Mod is a universal addon for Doom 2 that allows you to spawn deployable robot soldiers from backpack pickups. These robotic companions will fight alongside you like allies, enhancing your combat experience.

What is it for?

This mod is perfect for players who want to add a tactical element to their Doom 2 gameplay. The robot soldiers can be deployed from your inventory and will assist you in battles, making tough levels more manageable.

How to Use It In-Game

The companions spawn as a folded version via backpack items occasionally. They are inventory items that you can pick up and use whenever you need them.

• Deploying Robodudes: The robot is deployed from the inventory. If you hit use on it while it's active, it will fold back up into an inventory item.
• Reviving Robodudes: If a robodude is downed in combat, you can revive it with the use button.

Changes in v1.1

• The mod now uses a random spawner that either spawns the backpack or the robodude companion.
• You can now carry up to 4 companions in the inventory.
• You can now carry more than one companion between levels/hubs (up to 4). Previously, only one was carried between levels even if you had more than one.
• Robodudes now have 500 health, instead of 200.
• Robodudes now do upgraded 5x10 damage instead of 1x7 per attack (50dmg vs 7dmg).

Additional Notes

• This mod may conflict with other mods that edit the backpack item. It is not a problem if it's just a graphics change; it will still double the ammo of modded weapon sets just the same.
• Credits go to Sgt. Shivers for the original mod. Reactorcore tweaked it to enhance its capabilities from the original 1.0 version.
