Folder Tree To Txt
Save time with this free, user-friendly tool. No command line knowledge required!
This lightweight batch program creates a comprehensive text file of your folder structure with just one click.
Simply place the .bat file in your desired starting folder and run it. Instantly, you'll get a FolderTree.txt with all the root folder's filenames with extensions listed, including any subfolder names and their filenames under them too!
The result looks like this:
Very useful if you want an overview of a convoluted folder tree and its files that is otherwise too bothersome to click through in the file explorer one folder at a time.
- No need to deal with complex third party file explorer software.
- No need to deal with Command Prompt nonsense where you need to memorize commands and manually type them out each time.
Just copy the .bat into whatever folder you want to "unravel", run it, get a FolderTree.txt from it and you're done!
Perfect for:
- You can then get a neat overview of the entire folder tree that you can edit in a text editor.
- You can share it with friends or AI GPTs to let them understand the folder setups you have.
- Easily create folder tree documention to help you plan out a project and keep track of your files inside endless subfolders.
